Equality in mental health: Atif’s story

16 November 2020

As part of our focus on equality in mental health, Atif Choudhury, CEO of Zaytoun and Diversity & Ability, shares his story. Atif grew up in a Bangladeshi family and was diagnosed with dyslexia at 27. He reflects on the intersections between neurodiversity, dyslexia, class and ethnicity, arguing that diagnosis can often be class-based. He also discusses the power of lived experience within organisations and explains why tackling mental health inequality is so critical.
