Living a healthy life at Cygnet

How Well Persons Clinics, co-production and scenario based education can have a positive impact.

Date: Monday 12th February 2024
Time: 12:00 – 13:15
Delivered: Virtually via MS Teams

Equally Well UK are delighted to invite you to our first webinar of 2024 with our members Cygnet.

Cygnethave developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.

Cygnet Views, a high dependency complex care service for women with learning disabilities and mental health complex needs, have been piloting a new ‘Well Person’s Clinic’. These clinics are led by the service’s Physical Health Lead Nurse, and individuals are invited every month for a consultation about their physical health, including a full set of physical observations, a discussion regarding any physical health concerns and signposting to other services where required. The clinic focuses on incentive based health promotion around important self-checking such as breast checking, advice around smear tests, the importance of Dentist and Optician appointments, to support the ‘Making Every Contact Count’ initiative.

In this webinar, Cygnet will tell us more about their Well Persons Clinic programme and will share cases of best practice. They will also talk about Scenario Based Education (SBE), a forward-thinking approach in education which allows students to learn in real life situations without fear of repercussion should they make a clinical error. This session will also explore how co-production can be used as a way to improve service user experiences relating to food quality and choice.

Members will have the opportunity to ask questions and share information about their own services to inform best practice.

Please sign up to attend below.

Please note this is a members only webinar but you are welcome to share with your colleagues within the membership organisation. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with shizana.arshad@centreformentalhealth.org.uk.
