Centre for Mental Health partners with Investigo to find ways of saving lives through effective suicide prevention

10 October 2017

Centre for Mental Health is delighted to begin work today as the official 2017/18 annual charity partner of the award-winning recruitment consultancy, Investigo.

During the next twelve months, with support from Investigo staff through a range of fundraising events and activities, Centre for Mental Health will investigate how best to support people who are at risk of losing their lives through suicide. Working in partnership with Samaritans, the Centre will research good practice in helping people who come into contact with GPs or other public services at risk of suicide before they get to crisis point. We will explore the best ways of helping people who are not in routine contact with mental health services to prevent a tragic loss of life. The project will provide crucial intelligence to the NHS and local councils across the country on how to save lives and support people when they are at their most vulnerable.

By supporting our research, Investigo is showing its commitment to better mental health for all and to supporting people and families at risk of a tragic loss of life.

Centre for Mental Health chief executive Sarah Hughes said: “We are delighted that the staff of Investigo have chosen to put their fundraising efforts this year into saving lives by preventing suicides. By supporting our research, Investigo is showing its commitment to better mental health for all and to supporting people and families at risk of a tragic loss of life. We want to ensure that every local area is able to offer effective help to people who are at risk of suicide. Investigo’s generous support means that we can find out what is working now in local areas and help others to learn from the best.”

Investigo’s Executive Director Paul Collier added: “It has always been hugely important to us as a business to focus our fundraising efforts on a charity where we can really make a difference, which is why we are so excited about supporting Centre for Mental Health with this incredible piece of work. This year the money we raise will be just one element of our charity contribution, we are committing ourselves to providing our clients and candidates with advice and information on best practice for workplace mental health as well as focussing on ensuring our own employees are supported with their own mental well-being. We are really looking forward to our partnership with Centre for Mental Health for the next 12 months.”
