David Lyon: a tribute from Centre for Mental Health

13 June 2024

We heard recently that a great friend of ours, our former resources director, David Lyon, has died. David worked at the Centre during our transition from Sainsbury Centre to our current independent position. His stewardship of our finances was crucial to ensure we sustained the charity and its essential work when we had to fundraise all of our income for the first time. It’s thanks to David, among others, that we are still here fighting for mental health equality today.

More than that, David was a kind, thoughtful and dedicated colleague. He brought a deep sense of social justice, fairness and honesty to work. His wit and eclectic knowledge livened up our working days. And his belief in Centre for Mental Health strengthened our resolve to make a success of our bold move to the organisation we have become.

We will miss him very much, but we are thankful for his time with us and all that he brought to the Centre.
