Adele McCormack

Adele began her career working in both statutory and voluntary sectors in mental health and substance misuse as a front-line practitioner. In 2009, she set up The SUN Network which is designed to ensure meaningful involvement of service users in the commissioning and evaluation of health and social care services. Adele currently works as a commissioner and was part of the team who commissioned the award winning First Response Service in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The key to this success was the integration of statutory and voluntary sector approaches.

Adele is also leading an IAPT expansion into Long Term Conditions pathways, and over the past 3 years has been working to develop a whole system solution for Mental Health care in Primary Care (PRISM). She has a special interest in dual diagnosis and the use of coaching in mental health delivery.

Adele is a qualified and accredited Coach, and the Head of Professional Standards for the International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring. She is also a registered social worker with the HCPC.

Adele enjoys writing articles; she has contributed to the HSJ and regularly blogs for the Huffington Post.

Her areas of interest and expertise are as follows:

  • IAPT (including the integration into Long Term Conditions)
  • Primary Care mental health solutions
  • Co-occurring drug/alcohol and mental health needs (including dual diagnosis)
  • Service user and Carer involvement and co-production
  • Integrated solutions (health and social care, statutory and voluntary sector)
