Email Shizana

Shizana leads on Equally Well UK (hosted by Centre for Mental Health in partnership with Rethink Mental Illness). She manages a number of working groups, events, comms and workstreams to bring about better physical health for people with a mental illness.

Shizana has also worked with the Children & Young People’s Mental Health Coalition (hosted by Centre for Mental Health) since 2016, bringing a wealth of operational skills in organising events, managing the coalition membership and taking projects forward.

Following career transitions after four years in TV/film and 16 years in property investment, Shizana made the leap into the charity sector in 2015 working for a Birmingham-based educational social enterprise as a Project Co-ordinator, where she helped develop a series of engaging workbooks for primary school children who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

A media postgraduate with over 10 years’ voluntary experience at a variety of charities including Samaritans and Crisis, Shizana loves a challenge and brings passion, humour and a smile into everything she does.

To look after her mental wellbeing, Shizana’s cat is her happy place and she loves a long country walk and getting stuck into a movie.
