Boost client motivation!
This 1-day interactive training course teaches motivational interviewing techniques to help you improve an individual’s motivation, empowering them towards change.
The techniques focus on reducing internal barriers and negative attitudes, improving confidence and raising awareness of the benefits of employment to wellbeing. Motivational interviewing helps people to access their own resources and has been shown to significantly enhance employment results.
The training will cover:
- The principles of motivational interviewing
- Working with resistance
- Barriers to change
- Developing advanced listening skills
- Use of strategic questions to elicit behaviour change
- Role play demonstration from trainer
- Role play exercises

We accept payment by invoice only and we will collect the necessary information in the booking form.
Cancellation policy
Any booking which is subsequently cancelled by the delegate or their organisation within less than 2 weeks’ notice is subject to full payment. Cancellation with less than 3 weeks’ notice is subject to 50% payment. Please note that 3 or more week’s notice is required to transfer a course booking to a different date. In the unlikely event that Centre for Mental Health needs to cancel a course, delegates will be offered a guaranteed place on the next available course or a full refund. Completion of the booking form indicates your acceptance of these terms.
