Roles: Trustee and Chair of Trustees

We’re Centre for Mental Health. We take the lead in challenging injustices in policies, systems and society, so that everyone can have better mental health. By building research evidence to create fairer mental health policy, we are pursuing equality, social justice and good mental health for all.

As we approach Centre for Mental Health’s 40th anniversary, and our current Chair, Dame Sue Bailey reaches the end of her tenure, we are looking for an exceptional person to become our new Chair to lead the next phase of our vital work.

We are also looking for one new Trustee to join the Board. For this role you may have some experience of working with a charity board, or this may be a new experience you’d like to explore.

We are keen to increase the diversity of our Board members, across ethnicity, age, social class, sexual orientation and gender identity and we are open to a range of ways of including and supporting our new Chair and Trustee to make this happen.

Board meetings are held four times a year during office hours, usually online, with occasional in person meetings at our office in Central London. Your commitment would be for three years in the first instance.

For more information on the roles, please read the Role Descriptions. If you would like a discussion about the roles with a senior member of staff, please contact us on the address below.

Closing date for applications is 23:59 on Monday 30th September 2024.

To apply please send your CV and a covering letter to hr@centreformentalhealth.org.uk

Please explain your reasons for applying and how you believe that your experience (lived or professional experience) would help to steer Centre for Mental Health to successfully achieve our vision to coproduce research evidence to improve and protect the mental health of millions of adults, children and young people.
