Victoria Bleazard

Victoria Bleazard grew up in a family affected by mental illness and has spent her career seeking to improve care and eradicate inequalities. At a national level, she directed policy and campaigning for the charity Rethink Mental Illness and the NHS regulator, CQC, which led to legislative improvements and increased investment in mental healthcare.

More recently, Victoria initiated Bristol’s public mental health programme, and supported the Mayor to create the first ‘One City Plan’. She currently directs community mental health transformation across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire – redesigning care with people who need support to radically improve outcomes.

She is a Health Foundation GenQ Quality Improvement fellow; has undertaken a Churchill Fellowship on psychosis care in Australasia; and has previously been a Board member for the domestic abuse charity Women’s Aid. She has master’s degrees in economics; health leadership and is currently completing her Public Health masters with Bristol Medical School. She lives in Bristol with her husband and two young children.
